I’ve always thought tailoring was an essential part of menswear and opened Mr Start in 2008 to concentrate on one particular aspect - to pioneer the slim suit.

The shop at 40 Rivington Street in Shoreditch was the epicentre of menswear and tailoring in East London. It was the home to customers that appreciated that they could dress in the way they wanted, with the look and quality of our collection and tailoring.

This sentiment is still very much part of our DNA.

I chose to close the last Mr Start store in January 2023 to focus on providing our iconic tailored clothing on a more personal basis - through our exclusive and highly individual made to measure service in the heart of London.

Made to measure is very important because it’s ‘made for you’, which is where you can really express your personality and individual style. It’s great to help customers choose not only the fabric but to interpret a style which might be difficult to express in words.
