A Tale of Two Suits- Kier Starmer vs Andy Burnham
The way you dress tells a story about what kind of person you are.
Today sees the inauguration of our new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, who has promised to bring with him a new style of politics, and with it, a new style of dressing.
Our outgoing leader, Kier Starmer dressed as he is; Stoic, yet smart, but possibly a little old fashioned. A classic style of tailoring, possibly more suited to an old school way of thinking.
Whereas Andy Burnham appears to be dressing in a more open and modern way. Soft shouldered, softer construction, sometimes with an open necked shirt and no tie. When he does wear a more formal look, it's well fitting and neat, the shirt he wears has a soft collar and the tie works well to create a casual formality, which projects an essence of forward thinking modernity and power.
It goes to show that how much clothing can project an image of yourself that can influence the people you meet, and that first impressions count. We will see if this new modern style feeds through into his leadership style, and a more forward thinking UK political landscape.
