Be Less Than Perfect

People often think to be well dressed it has to be somehow perfect. The real key is to have very well made and beautiful clothes maybe worn in an imperfect way. In the 1980s Comme des garsons advised its customers to forego ironing their supper quality shirts, to create a 'devil may care' look. It’s the key to nonchalance when wearing fine tailoring. Great quality worn in a slightly disrespectful way.

Perfection can be a tyrant and quite frankly deter one from dressing up. The idea that we should be flawless seems rather outdated and inauthentic. Better to have your own  way of wearing clothes than be too buttoned up.

As you can see by John Lennons example, the result is absolute perfection!

Wear it imperfectly well.
