Fine Gauge Knitwear - A Wardrobe Staple

I've been reading the FT Weekend as I do every weekend.  It's one of my pleasures. It’s full of such interesting stuff.  One article in the HTSI magazine caught my eye as it’s what I've been banging on about forever.  Fine gauge knitwear in Merino wool.  One of the most important items in any wardrobe.  As Ellie Pithers says in her article it’s so versatile.  Cast off any aspirations about Merino wool, it has superior breathability and moisture wicking properties.  You never know when you are going to be hot or cold and it changes all the time.  Perhaps the plane on route to a holiday destination or business trip, or just visiting an air conditioned office.  Plus, it fits in a small bag, for whenever you need it.

One way I have been wearing my own fine gauge this winter is my trusty roll neck with a cardigan worn over the top.  It creates a top layer that finishes off the look if you are not wearing a jacket.  I like to wear mine with slightly different colours,  so it looks more interesting.

Our knitwear comes in three different styles: crew neck , roll neck and 3 button polo.  Wear as a top layer or under a jacket - any way you like.
