Loro Piana Storm System™

At Mr Start we are always researching new fabrics for our luxury made to measure suits. One of our favourite Italian cloth mills is Loro Piana, who has been crafting ultra fine fabrics for over a hundred years. They are renowned for their wonderful fabrics such as their cashmere and wool, which works so well for the cooler months yet breathable and versatile across all seasons. The brand maintains rigorous quality control to produce authenticity and excellence. They even have their own sheep farms to ensure a guaranteed supply of extra fine quality wool. The fabrics benefit from having a soft elegance and drape, which works so well when made into a suit or jacket, and is an absolute favourite of mine. 

One of the new developments from Loro Piana is a range of weather resistant fabrics which can  protect you from the changing elements. Called Storm System™, they combine luxury natural fibres, with high-performance weather protection using double layer construction to create a waterproof and wind proof cloth, ideal for our beautifully unpredictable British climate.

It comes in a large variety of wonderful colours and patterns, such as fine herringbone, with a contrast coloured inner layer, for a traditional yet contemporary feel. Make yours a deconstruct or part lined jacket to really show the uniqueness of the fabric. This versatile cloth is ideal for any bespoke tailoring.
