My Rivington Suit at the ENO

When the Mr Start brand was born in 2008, the first product I designed was the classic Mr Start suit, called the Rivington, to define a step change in how men dressed. Slim fitting jackets and trousers, narrow lapels and to be worn with or without trainers. I sold it to many of the world’s department stores in London, Paris , Hong Kong, Seoul, and Shanghai.

Today it’s just as relevant and is still one of our best sellers. I have added many different options to it over time including softer shoulders, lined or unlined- or ‘Deconstruct’ as we call it. I still love the original look especially with the one button option, and it still feels great to dress up for an occasion, like I did at the weekend at the English National Opera. I went with my wife Brix and we watched a Performance of the opera Dead Man Walking. It's based on the Oscar winning film. I loved the performance, albeit it touched on some challenging subject matter. It felt very modern, which I liked.

With our made to measure service, you can go for a single or double breasted option for a really sharp look. We also have Peak lapel and shawl collar models too, so you can make it as formal or relaxed as you choose, the possibilities are endless. I usually wear mine without a waistcoat, but I feel it really smartens the look up when warranted.
