Mr Start X Dugdale Jacket
I love a tailored jacket
It’s so easy to wear and it makes any casual trousers smarter and fashionable without making the overall look too formal.
This deconstruct Prince of Wales jacket we’ve made is a really great example.
This deconstruct Prince of Wales jacket we’ve made is a really great example.

It comes in a classic Prince of Wales style woven fabric, from Dugdale of Huddersfield, one of our favourite English mills we work with.
The Prince of Wales check is distinguished by its over check- in this case red, otherwise it's known as a Glen Check. It dates back to the 1800s and was said to have originated from a lady called Elizabeth MacDougall from Lewiston, a small village near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.

It was made popular by another lady-
Countess Caroline of Seafield, who commandeered it for the uniform for her ground staff. To her it was the perfect choice, being a smart yet immensely warm fabric, ideal for the Highland climate.
The then Prince of Wales, King Edward VII, visited the Seaford estate and took a shine to the fabric, and began wearing it himself. It then became synonymous with him, hence its current moniker.
It is still very popular today.

The one we have chosen has a black and white check with a red stripe running through it, and is made from 100% fine British wool. Thick enough for the winter months ahead, yet with a soft and supple handle.
We have 100s of fabrics to choose from, to really make it your own. Get your made to measure jacket by booking an appointment and discuss your winter version.
Wear It Well.
